Lot Details

Description

21 ½ x 31 ½ in. Poster for The Pink Floyd’s “Games for May” concert event at Queen Elizabeth Hall in South London on 12 May 1967. Features blue and black artwork in a psychedelic style, designed by graphic artist Barry Zaid.

Excellent condition, some folds.

In Pink Floyd’s early incarnation, when the group was led by Syd Barrett, their sound was psychedelic. They were recording at Abbey Road upstairs when the Beatles were also working in the building. Games for May, one of the first significant live events held by the band, was described as a “space age relaxation for the climax of spring - electronic composition, color and image projection, girls and the Pink Floyd.” The concert featured some of the band's early singles as well as material from their yet to be released debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
