Description
Acetates of The Beatles: 1962–1966 and The Beatles: 1967–1970 (also known as the “Red” and “Blue” albums). Four 12” discs with Apple Records Inc labels and typed track listings, in original 12 ½ x 12 ½ in. jackets.
These acetates were owned by George Harrison and later given to Chris O’Dell, who worked for Apple Records and was close friends with Harrison.
Includes signed letter from O’Dell: “This letter is to certify that the 2 sets of double albums, referred to as the Red and Blue albums, were given to me by George Harrison. He was in Los Angeles in 1973 and received these acetates from Capitol Records to listen to and approve. When he was leaving to return to England he gave them to me. I have never personally played these acetates nor has anyone else since they've been in my possession. I, therefore, assume only George played them. They have never been out of my possession since 1973.”
