the pierced vase-form splats above solid plank seats, the scalloped seat rails above gently curving cabriole legs terminating in pad feet

These are most probably dining chairs but because they had robust boarded seats, like more usual 18th century hall chairs they were used as such by Stanley Seeger and Christopher Cone.
