The Wine

Every bottle of OVID begins and ends on one estate — 15 organically farmed acres of iron-red volcanic soil, divided into one-acre blocks. This vertical holds six consecutive expressions of that single place: 2005 through 2010, the estate's founding vintages, each one a different answer to the same question — what does this hill have to say this year?

The Winemaker

Austin Peterson, the son of a winemaker, arrived on Pritchard Hill in 2006 and has spent every harvest since in service of these same acres. What he has built is a practice as much art as craft: guided by intuition, shaped by tradition, driven by an unrelenting curiosity about what this land is capable of.

The Experience

Six guests. One afternoon. The same sweeping views of Oakville that have watched over every OVID harvest since the beginning. Austin will pour some of his favorite vintages and walk you through the site, the soils and the decisions that shaped them. It's a rare chance to taste not just where OVID has arrived, but where it began.
