Little Brother is a profound example of the artist's earlier work displaying Paul Manship's stylized blend of Neoclassicism and Art Deco. The present work was conceived in 1912 as an edition of 15 during Manship's studies at the American Academy in Rome and has since become one of his better known forms. An intimate scene capturing a playful moment between sister and brother, this cast is a triumphant exhibition of Manship's unique parcel gilt technique and decorative patterning.
