The authenticity of the work has been verbally confirmed by the Institut de Recherche – Comité Jean Tinguely, Basel, in November 2026. The work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Jean Tinguely’s works on paper currently in preparation. (A certificate of authenticity may be obtained from the Institut de Recherche – Comité Jean Tinguely upon request.)

Created in 1990, the present work belongs to Jean Tinguely's Meta-Harmonies, a series that evolved from the artist's celebrated sound sculptures assembled from scrap materials, found objects and musical instruments. Translating the spirit of these mechanical sound-mixing machines into a two-dimensional format, the composition retains the energy, rhythm and improvisational quality of the earlier works. Executed on a large scale and with vivid colour, it stands as a compelling example of Tinguely's late practice.
