the set of ten rectangular stoneware dishes with high sides, painted in coloured underglaze enamels on a finely crackled cream ground, variously decorated with pines on a shore, morning glories, chrysanthemums, autumn maple leaves and river, descending geese, waves, chestnuts, a waterside pavilion beneath wisteria, bellflowers and plum blossoms, the sides decorated with foliate geometric pattern, iron-oxide under transparent glaze rim, each signed Kenzan on the flat base in underglaze iron-oxide

 

each approx. 16.3 x 16.7 x 2.8 cm.
