Though this intriguing sheet bears an old attribution to the great French Baroque artist, Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665), the manner in which it is drawn appears to be inconsistent with his known graphic style. Likewise, the pose and figure type does not correspond to a specific painted figure from the artist's known oeuvre.
