globular form, affixed with an animal form spout and a double scroll handle with a bird head-form thumbrest, the shoulder painted in blue with a band of lambrequin strapwork, the lower border with two bands of fluting molded in low-relief, with similar molding on the cover, with blue diaper bands at the rims

Another teapot of this distinctive shape, painted with blue-and-white strapwork and with different fluted ornament, formerly in the Bandinel Collection, is now in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (acc. no. 997&A-1853). A second example, decorated in a Kakiemon palette with a variant of the Two Quail pattern, is preserved in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (obj. no. 2015.503a, b).
