The Cartier launched the Cartier Privé collection in 2015, introducing an annual series of contemporary interpretations of some of the Maison’s most iconic timepieces. Models such as the Crash, Tank Cintrée, Tonneau, Tank Asymétrique, Cloche, and Tank Chinoise were reissued under this initiative. Notably, however, the Cartier Tank Normale had not been revisited, until recently.

In 2023, Cartier introduced the seventh edition of the Cartier Privé collection, spotlighting the long-awaited return of the Tank Normale through a series of limited editions. These models are produced as numbered releases, available in platinum or yellow gold, and offered with either a bracelet or strap configuration.

The dials feature a refined satin-brushed finish, providing an elegant contrast to the blued steel, sword-shaped hands seen on this yellow gold example. A beveled sapphire crystal further enhances the design, lending a subtle sense of depth and dimensionality to the dial.

For this release, Cartier collaborated with Le Temps Manufacture to develop the mechanical caliber 070, offering a power reserve of approximately 36 hours.

Balancing modern interpretation with historical fidelity, this timepiece captures the elegance and sophistication of the original design. This example, numbered 119 of 200, is presented in very good condition and is accompanied by its full suite of accessories.
