The Cartier Tank, one of the most revered designs from Cartier, has evolved through numerous variations, including the Tank Asymétrique, originally known as the Losange. Created in 1936, it stands out for its unconventional geometry, and in 2020, this distinctive model was reissued as part of the Cartier Privé collection.
This modern interpretation draws directly from the original 1936 design, transforming the traditional rectangular case into a lozenge shape, with a dial rotated approximately 30 degrees to create its signature angled display.
The present example features a classic yellow gold case framing a champagne-colored dial, lending warmth and softness that contrast beautifully with the blued steel sword-shaped hands and the cabochon set into the crown. Distinctive yet elegant, this timepiece will appeal to collectors who appreciate unique and characterful design.
