Gérald Genta is universally regarded as one of the most influential and visionary watch designers of the 20th century, best known for creating some of the era’s most iconic sports watches, including the Royal Oak and the Nautilus. In 1969, he founded his own eponymous manufacture, granting himself complete creative freedom to unite high complications with bold yet harmonious design.

This white gold and diamond-set perpetual calendar is a striking example from that independent chapter and a true embodiment of Genta’s philosophy. The watch features a 36 mm white gold case with a softly contoured octagonal profile, paired with a stunning mother-of-pearl dial set with diamond hour markers. The moon-phase display at 12 o’clock is particularly captivating, rendered against a deep lapis-colored disc that lends the piece a distinctly celestial character. The richly gem-set bezel, adorned with multiple rows of brilliant-cut diamonds, enhances the watch’s luxurious presence. Completing the design is an integrated white gold bracelet with an intricate woven texture, emphasizing the seamless continuity between case and bracelet.

Originally retailed by Royama, the present lot further underscores Genta’s mastery and distinctive creative vision.
