Crafted exclusively out of precious metals and gems, the Rolex Pearlmaster was released in 1992. The first models were 29mm and 34mm and catered to women. In the early aughts, Rolex released a 39mm version which increased the wrist presence but maintained the model’s elegance.
The current lot was part of the collection of legendary singer, Tony Bennett. Over the course of his storied career, Bennett won countless accolades, including 20 Grammy Awards and a Kennedy Center Honor. Born in New York City in 1926, Bennett began singing at an early age. His career spanned 8 decades, and included hits like “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.” His final album “Love for Sale” was a collaboration with Lady Gaga that was released when he was 90 years old – making him the oldest artist to release an album with original material.
This watch was gifted to his daughter Johanna, who has written a letter to the collector. The watch is in immaculate condition and comes with all the accoutrements a collector could want for a watch with such fine provenance.
