Founded in 1878 by Gerhard Diedrich Wilhelm Wempe, Wempe has grown from a German workshop into an international presence. Since 1972, under the direction of Herbert Wempe, the firm has held an official license to retail timepieces from Patek Philippe in Hamburg.
Introduced in 2003, the reference 5125 was created to celebrate Wempe’s 125th anniversary and its longstanding relationship with Patek Philippe. The model was produced in a limited edition of 125 pieces in each gold colour and 100 examples in platinum.
This annual calendar is distinguished by the retailer’s name proudly displayed on the moon phase subsidiary dial, further enhanced by its striking dark dial, which adds depth and a contemporary elegance to the display.
The present example is offered with all its original accessories, representing a rare and highly attractive commemorative edition.
