Introduced in 2015, the Legacy Machine Perpetual by MB&F reimagined the perpetual calendar from first principles. Developed by Maximilian Büsser and Stephen McDonnell, it features an innovative “mechanical processor” built on a 28-day base, improving reliability and reducing the risk of damage during adjustments. The model won Best Calendar Watch at the 2016 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
The movement is displayed dial-side, highlighted by a suspended balance wheel and a three-dimensional arrangement of finely finished components. Despite its complexity, the layout remains clear, with time at 12 o’clock and calendar indications arranged symmetrically.
The case, designed with Eric Giroud, blends classical and contemporary elements, while the manually wound movement on the reverse offers refined finishing and a 72-hour power reserve.
This example is part of a limited edition of 25 pieces in pink gold, making it one of the rarest versions of this ground breaking watch.
Please note that MB&F generously offers a complementary servicing of the watch to the winning bidder within a period of 6 months after the sale.
