Embodying a legacy of innovation and mechanical excellence, the Edward Piguet collection pays tribute to one of the founding figures of Audemars Piguet. Inspired by Art Deco design, it is defined by its elegant curved rectangular case and its use of refined complications.
Unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in 2001, the present model is distinguished by its tourbillon and an exceptionally rare rutilated quartz dial. Formed by nature, each dial is unique, its delicate structure requiring a meticulous process of slow and meticulous sanding and polishing rather than conventional machining.
The interplay between this striking mineral dial and the traditional tourbillon creates a timepiece of both technical sophistication and strong visual identity. It is bold and elegant at the same time.
Rutilated quartz is also often associated with metaphysical qualities and has long been used in practices such as feng shui or as a symbolic talisman.
Preserved in excellent condition, the present example offers a rare opportunity to acquire a distinctive and highly collectible expression of Audemars Piguet’s craftsmanship.
