Introduced in 2005, the Chronomètre Souverain marked an important milestone as the first wristwatch by François-Paul Journe to feature a guilloché dial, elegantly paired with signature blued steel hands, and was later awarded “Favorite Men’s Watch” at the GPHG. Inspired by 19th century pocket chronometers, it reinterprets the traditional marine chronometer with a singular focus on precision and legibility.
At its heart lies the manually wound calibre 1304, crafted entirely from 18k pink gold, featuring a symmetrical twin barrel construction that ensures a stable flow of energy for approximately 56 hours.
The present example is further distinguished by its Black Label dial, rendered in a deep, solemn black tone. Reserved exclusively for existing F.P. Journe clients and available only through the brand’s boutiques, these pieces are produced in extremely limited numbers, with only 2 examples delivered to each boutique annually. Housed in a platinum case, the watch combines technical refinement with a discreet yet unmistakable presence.
A harmonious blend of innovation, exclusivity, and timeless design, this example represents a particularly compelling opportunity to acquire one of the most emblematic and sought after creations from François-Paul Journe.
