The enchanting perpetual calendar chronographs crafted by Patek Philippe have long been cherished by collectors of intricate timepieces. This legacy, which started with the Reference 1518 in the early 1940s, continues to flourish thanks to its harmonious dial layout and classic case design.
Launched in 2004, the reference 5970 is regarded as a modern classic and marks the first watch designed by Thierry Stern, the current president of Patek Philippe. Stern aimed to create a timepiece that would connect his father's generation, represented by Philippe Stern, with the present generation. The platinum model exemplifies this vision. To our knowledge, the 5970 was produced in platinum for just two years, between 2009 and 2010, with fewer than 500 pieces made, making it the rarest version among the four precious metals offered. Featuring a black dial, a contrasting tachymeter scale, and leaf-shaped hands, this model presents an extraordinary presence when worn. The present watch is further presented in single factory sealed condition.
