The perpetual calendar has long been a cornerstone of Patek Philippe’s prestigious legacy. Launched in 1992, the Reference 5040 enjoyed an impressive 15 years of production before being discontinued in 2007. Notable for its unconventional design, the Reference 5040 draws inspiration from early 20th century aesthetics, featuring an elegantly sculpted tonneau-shaped case and refined numerals. This unique combination provides a graceful alternative to the more traditional round Calatrava-style models.

Available in yellow, white, and pink gold, as well as platinum, the Reference 5040 was eventually succeeded by the round-cased References 5140J (2012) and 5140G (2014). The present wristwatch is in single factory seal condition.
