With the ebb and flow of the watch market, trends come and go. In recent years, it has been clear that current tastes are ever skewing towards smaller case sizes, and thus previously underappreciated references have now finally come into the spotlight. One such reference is the 3800, the mid-size brother to the classic Jumbo 3700.

Unlike what some had previously believed, the reference 3800 was never intended to be a woman’s watch, as there was an even smaller quartz version that was released simultaneously in 1981. Instead, the 3800 had always been envisioned as a unisex offering that could cater to any wrist. The present watch, retained in excellent condition, is a variant of the most classic design. Still retaining the iconic ribbed dial, here the hour markers are tastefully set with diamonds for added intrigue.
