Produced between 2002 and 2005, the Ruthenium Collection represents one of F.P. Journe's most exclusive and collectible series, comprising five models limited to just 99 examples each. Reserved for the manufacture's longstanding clients, these watches showcased François-Paul Journe's creative vision through their distinctive ruthenium-finished dials and movements. The Octa Jour et Nuit complication only ever appeared in this ruthenium collection.

The present example belongs to the final generation of F.P. Journe timepieces powered by brass movements before the manufacture's transition to pink gold movements. Combining exceptional rarity, historical significance and the unique aesthetic of the Ruthenium Collection, it remains highly sought after among collectors today.
