First introduced in 2003, the Octa Lune ranks among the most enduring and recognisable creations in the F.P. Journe oeuvre. A quintessential expression of François-Paul Journe’s philosophy, the model seamlessly combines technical sophistication with everyday practicality. Distinguished by its asymmetrical dial architecture, the Octa Lune achieves a remarkable sense of balance and legibility, demonstrating the brand’s ability to integrate multiple complications into a design of exceptional harmony and refinement. The present 40 mm example is particularly striking, combining a rich black dial with a platinum case to create a highly distinctive and contemporary appearance. Of special note is the dial itself, finished in black, a configuration reserved for some of the manufacture’s most exclusive productions. Black dials are most commonly associated with F.P. Journe’s coveted Black Label series, watches available exclusively to existing owners of the brand, as well as select boutique editions produced in extremely limited quantities. As such, the black dial has become synonymous with rarity and exclusivity within the F.P. Journe universe.
