The Cartier Diabolo wristwatch was produced with a variety of differently coloured guilloché enamel bezels, frequently with inner bezels set with diamonds. The use of cabochon-set stones for the winding crown would become a signature feature of Cartier wristwatches. When re-introduced circa 1990, this case design became known as the Diabolo due to the case’s resemblance to the top used in the game ‘Le Diablo Japonais’.
