Produced from 2003 to 2005, the celebrated A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Ref. 403.031 is affectionately known as the"Dufourgraph", a nickname derived from legendary watchmaker Philippe Dufour, who owned this pink gold reference and famously regarded the Datograph as one of the finest chronograph ever made. The present example is further distinguished by its coveted"Meter Only" dial, featuring the word"METER" on the tachymeter scale, a scarce early dial variation sought after by collectors. Combining a striking pink gold case, black dial, and the legendary calibre L951.1 flyback chronograph movement, the present watch stands as one of the most desirable early Datographs.
