Launched in 1949, Reference 2451 was Patek Philippe’s first waterproof Calatrava and remained in production until the end of the 1950s. Also known as the “Aquatic”, the reference is distinguished by its two-piece case with screw down back and dust protection for the movement.

The present example is cased in 18k yellow gold and features a silvered dial which aged to a warm yellow tone. Powered by the calibre 10-200, the watch represents an attractive and rare example of Patek Philippe’s early waterproof wristwatch production.
