Louis Cartier was profoundly influenced by the craftsmanship and artistry of Peter Carl Fabergé, whose work epitomised luxury and innovation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Fabergé’s mastery of guilloché enamel, vibrant use of gemstones, and ability to reinterpret historical motifs with a modern sensibility captivated Cartier, inspiring his own approach to design. This influence is evident in Cartier’s focus on fine enamelling, richly detailed ornamentation, and bold colour palettes that balanced intricacy with elegance. Fabergé’s nature-inspired themes, imperial symbolism, and fusion of traditional and contemporary styles further shaped Cartier’s artistic vision.
