This spring, the Important Design sale is cast in a new light: curated by Ellie Peugeot, with exhibition design conceived in collaboration with Thierry Boutemy as an immersive journey into a dreamlike garden.

The sale opens with a unique dialogue between the Lalannes and the eighteenth century, revealing the enduring presence of a timeless elegance, shaped by nature and imagination. It then unfolds across more than a century of creation, from Art Nouveau to contemporary design, through nearly 200 works.

Iconic masterpieces, leading designers, exceptional private collections: from Charlotte Perriand to Jean Royère, from Alberto Giacometti to Pierre Chareau and Martin Szekely, each work or group of pieces composes a compelling narrative of Design and the evolution of forms and inspirations across eras and styles.

Highlights include: a French private collection showcasing Art Nouveau and Art Deco, featuring major works by Alphonse Mucha, Hector Guimard, and Christian Bérard; a rare collection of Pierre Chareau's creations, including the MB405 desk created in 1927 for Raymond and Madeleine Dior; and a tribute to Guy de Rougemont, bringing together unique works and historic creations such as the desk designed in 1971 for the Baudard‑Alvarez agency.

The sale is conceived as an exploration of more than a century of creation, bringing together several of the great icons of Design.

Ce printemps, la vente Important Design s’offre un nouveau regard : Ellie Peugeot en signe la curation et imagine, avec Thierry Boutemy, la scénographie de l’exposition pensée comme une immersion dans un jardin onirique. 

La vente s’ouvre sur un dialogue inédit entre les Lalanne et le XVIIIe siècle, qui révèle la permanence d’une élégance intemporelle, nourrie par la nature et l’imaginaire, avant de traverser plus d’un siècle de création, de l’Art Nouveau au design contemporain, à travers près de 200 pièces.

Chefs-d’œuvre iconiques, signatures majeures, collections privées d’exception : de Charlotte Perriand à Jean Royère, d’Alberto Giacometti à Pierre Chareau ou Martin Szekely, chaque œuvre ou ensemble compose un récit exigeant du Design et de l’évolution des formes et des inspirations à travers les époques et les styles.

Parmi les temps forts : une collection privée française mettant à l’honneur l’Art Nouveau et l’Art Déco, comprenant des œuvres majeures d’Alphonse Mucha, Hector Guimard ou encore de Christian Bérard ; un rare ensemble de Pierre Chareau, dont le bureau MB405 créé en 1927 pour Raymond et Madeleine Dior ; ainsi qu’un hommage à Guy de Rougemont, entre pièces uniques et créations historiques dont le bureau créé spécialement en 1971 pour les éditions Baudard-Alvarez.
