Description

Apple Macintosh Plus System. Cupertino: Apple Computer Inc., 1986, including:

1. Macintosh Plus Computer, 20 x 19 ¼ x 13 ¾ inches. Apple Computer and UPS shipping labels dated 4/25/86.

2. Apple ImageWriter II Printer, 11 x 21 ½ x 16 ¾ inches. Apple Computer and UPS shipping labels dated 4/25/86. Tape yellowed and worn, hole on side of box, skinning.

3. Macintosh 800K External Drive, 9 x 12 ½ x 6 ¾ inches, Apple Computer and UPS shipping labels dated 5/2/86, box not taped, but contents appear untouched with original paperwork, cables unopened. “Barb” penned to one side of box.

4. Apple System/Peripheral – 8 Cable, 9 x 4 x 2 ¾ inches. Shrink-wrapped, box slightly warped.

With copies of original receipts, first three items with Apple, 171 Locke Drive; Marlborough, MA 01752 shipping labels addressed to: Summagraphics Corp; 77 State St Ext; Fairfield, CT 06430 and one to the c/o “Lauri Klein.”

APPLE MACINTOSH PLUS - SEALED IN ORIGINAL BOXES.

The Macintosh Plus, first issued in 1986 and sold through 1990, was the first Macintosh to be issued with enough RAM to make it practical for the applications for which it was created. It came with 1MB of RAM, expandable to 4MB, a new double-sided 800KB double-sided floppy drive and the first SCSI port on a Macintosh – which allowed a fast connection to hard drives and other devices. It had one of the longest runs of any Mac. This example was shipped just a few months after the computer was introduced on January 16, 1986.
