painted, in the manner of J. G. Höroldt, on both sides with a Böttger lustre, iron-red and purple scroll-edged panel enclosing chinoiserie figures seated at low tables within gardens, further enriched by scattered insects and sprigs of indianische Blumen beneath a gilt scrollwork border around the shoulder, the gilt-edged spout with a terminal in the form of a Turk's head painted in flesh tones, the domed cover with two vignettes of chinoiserie figures in gardens, K.P.M over crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 40. to both pieces
