Description
The Macallan The Reach 81 Year Old 41.6 abv 1940
This lot is offered Duty Paid With VAT On the Hammer Price.
A one-of-a-kind special edition of The Macallan The Reach 81 Years Old, the oldest whisky in the world upon its release in 2022. Distilled in 1940 and crafted from a single, sherry seasoned oak cask, this exclusive bottle of The Macallan The Reach is encased in a display cabinet lined in red leather, rather than the traditional cream leather which features on the original whisky release.
Bottle number 3/288 of The Macallan The Reach is encased in a mouth-blown decanter and cradled on a bronze sculpture of three hands. The cabinet is crafted using wood from a fallen elm tree which is thought to have been on The Macallan Estate in 1940, the year the spirit was distilled.
Alongside the bottle, the winning bidder can enjoy an exceptional distillery experience at The Macallan Estate, including a tasting of this extraordinarily rare 81 year old whisky.
