Richebourg 2001
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Côte de Nuits, Grand Cru
Levels into the neck, consecutive bottle numbers, case banded prior to inspection
A bouquet of warm, spicy, violetty earth, even some candied zests. Wet leaves. Earthy, wet cedars taste, full of plummy fruit. Sugared redcurrants. Earthy tannins. In 2009, a positively hypnotising bouquet of violets, raspberries and springtime earth. Glorious enticing taste of spicy red fruit, still with floral notes at 8 years old. Absolute perfect harmony. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
