Description

Château Latour 1967

Pauillac, 1er Cru Classé

u. bn, label slightly soiled, capsule slightly corroded, believed acquired at an ex Chateau auction, Christie's London

1 bt (cn)

Provenance:

From the treasured collection of a loyal and long-standing client of Sotheby’s, a wonderful offering of historic vintages of Bordeaux including the great Mouton 1945, Petrus 1975 and a selection of mature vintages of Latour, La Tour Haut-Brion and La Fleur-Pétrus. Chave’s Ermitage, Cuvée Cathelin 1998 leads the small Rhone selection which is followed by 1947 Vouvray, Le Haut Lieu from Huet, 1963 Quinta do Noval Nacional and a bottle of DRC’s Marc de Bourgogne. The wines come with excellent provenance: the older vintages of Bordeaux were purchased at auction at Christie’s including from ex Chateau sales in the 1980s, whilst the Chave wines, including the Cuvée Cathelin, were bought through their UK importer, Yapp Brothers, and Le Haut Lieu from the Wine Society. Sotheby’s has had sight of some of the original auction invoices and further details on the provenance can be found in the lot descriptions. All wines have been carefully stored in the temperature-controlled underground cellar of the owner’s London home.
