In 2025, this is a riveting, slightly atypical vintage for Bollinger, with a high 39% Chardonnay giving especial elegance - and the Verzenay Pinot Noir content pips that of Aÿ, for only the second time in two decades, the other being in 2007. The lovely marine, sea urchin notes float over the glass - and always make it a big, tulip-shaped one for Bollinger.

Underneath, there is the deep flavour and fresh, minerally volume, with a touch of lemon honey on the finish. Exquisite. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

A superb collection encompassing Bordeaux First Growths, Super Seconds and stars of the Right Bank from across 4 decades, including the stellar Mouton 1996 and Petrus 2000; a small selection of Burgundy including Clos de Vougeot from Domaine d'Eugenie and Grands Crus from Olivier Bernstein, followed by Champagne, parcels of Sassicaia, Spain's iconic Vega Sicilia and Opus One from California. All purchased from highly reputable UK wine merchants and held in professional storage throughout.

-         to an address in London: £35 for the first 10 cases, plus £10 for any additional case, plus VAT and Sotheby’s Transit Care cover;

-         to a UK address outside of London (excluding Ireland and Scotland): £45 for the first 10 cases, plus £10 for any additional case, plus VAT and Sotheby’s Transit Care cover.
