86% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend composition resembles the excellent 1998. 75% new barrels. Really sumptuous richness and a wine of enormous precision and the glycerol covers the very high tannin index. There is such extraordinary, creamy density in this wine.

This is a very high Merlot content giving the plumpness but the tiny proportion of Cabernet Franc still comes singing through! Serena Sutcliffe, MW
