Pomerol 

Merlot 80%, Cabernet Franc 19%, Cabernet Sauvignon 1%. Three-quarters of the production went into the 'grand vin'.  High alcohol, which you do not see, and acidities like 2010.  Wonderfully vivacious nose, with complexity linked to health of the grapes, plus a smidgen of camomile.  On the palate, the old vine Cabernet Francs have given great creaminess.  Coffee and blackberries, black liquorice and liqueur.  Huge tannin hidden by glycerol.  This is a giant of a wine, a stupendous VCC and a 'vin de garde'.  Serena Sutcliffe, MW
