On New Year's Eve 2022 and from our own stock, an incredibly vivacious, cedary/leathery /mysterious bouquet and amazingly fresh too. Then watch for that touch of woodsmoke. Velvet black liquorice on the palate, gummy and full of glycerol only Latour on the Left Bank reached these heights in 1970. It took time. but now we have this
in all its splendour, power and succulence. Dig deep into it and feel the sheer majesty of this wine. And, as 2025 drew to a close, we drank deep of another bottle - all aromatic black chocolate and spices, full, luscious and noble. This is a wine of classic, epochal character and it is unforgettable. - Serena Sutcliffe, MW
