Description
Hermitage Rouge 1989
Jean-Louis Chave
Levels into the neck, scuffed labels, corroded capsules, 2 slightly sunken corks
Glorious Syrah concentration and richness on the nose. Fruity, brambly and wild. Heavenly, rich, plummy, blackberry depth. All-enveloping and exotic. More intense and concentrated than the divinely fruity 1990. This is so redolent of lush fruit and vegetation, so fat, gamey and full of glycerol. A brilliant vinous masterpiece that is terrific in 2015, noble and many-layered. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
