The predecessor of Cartier Baignoire was originally created in 1912 by Louis Cartier and quickly became a hallmark of Cartier's timeless design aesthetic with the introduction of the Ovale Cintré in 1958. The name Baignoire, meaning 'bathtub' in French, was first coined in 1973 after its unique oval shape. Its refined curves and clean lines that have remained daringly modern for over a hundred years made the Baignoire a design that the Maison has returned to over and over again.

The current example, from c. 1995, is a testament to exquisite design. The classic aesthetic remains modern and wearable without compromising the brand's heritage.
