The first platinum Daytona Chronograph, Ref. 116506, was unveiled at Baselworld 2013 to mark the 50th anniversary of this iconic model. Featuring an exclusive ice-blue dial reserved for Rolex’s platinum timepieces and paired with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel—an in-house innovation renowned for its exceptional durability—the watch carries a substantial and luxurious presence on the wrist.
The current reference 126506 is the updated model and was released in 2023 for the 60th anniversary of the Daytona. It features the new cal.4131 movement which has fewer components and the more efficient Chronergy escapement. The real show-stopper though is the sapphire display caseback, a first for any Rolex sports watch.
