Produced from 1982 to 1996, the Ref. 3948 marked an important evolution of the Golden Ellipse collection as the first model to feature a subsidiary seconds display. Retaining the elegant proportions and understated sophistication that define the line, it combines timeless design with enhanced functionality.

The present example, dating from 1988, features a yellow gold case paired with a refined white dial with Roman numerals, known by Patek Philippe as “Porcelain White”. The present example is fitted with its original Patek Philippe alligator strap and matching signed 18ct yellow gold Ellipse buckle.
