Produced between 1982 and 1999, the Ref. 3796 was introduced under Philippe Stern as a tribute to the legendary Calatrava Ref. 96, the model that helped establish Patek Philippe's reputation for elegant wristwatches following its debut in 1932. Closely echoing the proportions and design of the original, the Ref. 3796 revived many of its defining characteristics, including the restrained case dimensions and classic bezel, while benefiting from the reliability and finishing standards of a modern production era. Today, it is regarded as one of the purest expressions of the Calatrava aesthetic and a significant link between Patek Philippe's historic and contemporary watchmaking.
The present example, crafted in pink gold with a silvered dial, exemplifies the understated refinement for which the model is celebrated. Preserved in very good condition, this Ref. 3796 represents a timeless and highly collectible interpretation of one of Patek Philippe's most enduring designs.
