The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak reference 15300ST represents an important chapter in the evolution of the iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak line first introduced in 1972 and designed by the legendary watch designer Gérald Genta. Produced between 2005 and approximately 2012, the reference 15300 succeeded the earlier 39 mm Royal Oak models while remaining faithful to the proportions that earned the “Jumbo” Royal Oak its enduring appeal.
Crafted in stainless steel, the 39 mm case retains the unmistakable architectural features that define the Royal Oak: the octagonal bezel secured by eight white gold hexagonal screws, the sharply faceted case and integrated bracelet, and the harmonious alternation of satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Measuring approximately 9.4 mm in thickness, the reference preserves the elegant wearability for which the Royal Oak has long been celebrated.
The present example is fitted with a black “Grande Tapisserie” dial, its signature guilloché pattern providing remarkable depth and texture. Applied white gold hour markers and Royal Oak hands with luminous coating ensure excellent legibility, while the date aperture positioned at 3 o’clock maintains the dial’s balanced aesthetic.
Highly appreciated by collectors, the reference 15300 occupies a significant place in the Royal Oak lineage as the last non-Jumbo 39 mm Royal Oak powered by the calibre 3120 before the transition to the 41 mm generation. Combining classic proportions with a modern in-house movement, it remains one of the most versatile and sought-after interpretations of the legendary Royal Oak design.
