The reference 2551 was one of Patek Philippe’s earliest automatic wristwatch models and featured their first and most revered automatic movement, the caliber 12-600 also used in reference 2526. In fact, 14 references in total shared this legendary movement, produced in about 7,100 examples.

The reference 2551 was produced between 1954 and 1960. The two piece case was produced by Wenger and about 1200 units were produced, the vast majority in yellow gold.
