The Quai des Bergues marked the revival of Czapek & Cie, drawing on the legacy of François Czapek’s 19th-century Geneva manufacture while establishing a modern independent identity.
The present ‘Sapphire Blue L’, dating to circa 2023, is defined by its flinqué enamel dial, where a guilloché base is overlaid with translucent blue enamel to create depth and shifting tone. The off-centred layout, with small seconds and power reserve indications positioned low on the dial, reflects the collection’s characteristic asymmetry.
Equally significant is the in-house calibre SXH1, visible through the sapphire display back. Constructed around twin barrels delivering an extended power reserve, the movement is laid out in a traditional manner, with open bridges and careful finishing that emphasise depth and symmetry.
The watch represents a balanced expression of modern independent watchmaking, combining classical dial craft with a movement designed to be viewed as much as worn.
