Powered by caliber L941.4 equipped with a micro-rotor, the present watch features double apertures for date at 12 o'clock. This automatic movement was first introduced in 1997 as cal. L921.2 (no date) and L921.4 (date) and was given the name Sax-O-Mat. It took five years of development under the leadership of Helmut Geyer. This wonderful movement gave birth to the Langematik collection including the Big Date, exemplified by the present lot. The date is easily adjusted through the pusher perfectly integrated to the band of the case at 11 o'clock.
This particular example is housed in a well-preserve sleek white gold case and a black dial, giving the watch a very sophisticated look.
