Produced during the interwar period, the present Vacheron & Constantin reflects the transition from pocket watch-influenced design toward the more architectural wristwatch forms of the 1930s. The softly contoured yellow gold case frames a gilt dial of considerable character, distinguished by oversized stylised Arabic numerals, blued hands and a recessed subsidiary seconds register. Particularly attractive is the strong Art Deco typography, whose elongated numerals lend the watch far greater visual presence than its dimensions alone suggest. Preserved in an honest state, the present example captures the restrained elegance and refined dial design that defined Geneva watchmaking during the period.
