First introduced in 1954, the Rolex GMT-Master has long stood as a benchmark among travel watches. The 'Batman', however, represents one of the collection’s more modern evolutions. Distinguished by its striking blue and black Cerachrom ceramic bezel, the GMT-Master II Batman made its debut in 2013 with the introduction of reference 116710BLNR.
Unveiled at Baselworld 2013, the 116710BLNR was groundbreaking as the first Rolex to feature a bi-color Cerachrom bezel. While Rolex had employed ceramic bezels for nearly a decade prior, production had been limited to single-color executions due to the technical challenges inherent in working with the material. The Batman marked a significant breakthrough, showcasing Rolex’s ability to engineer a rich, dual-toned bezel that is exceptionally durable and highly resistant to fading. The designation “BLNR” derives from Bleu/Noir, referencing the bezel’s distinctive color scheme.
The present example is offered in stickered condition and accompanied by its full original set.
