Aside from being one of the most iconic contemporary artists of the Twentieth-century, Andy Warhol was also well known for being an avid watch collector. His collection showcases an impeccable level of taste, including pieces such as a Tank Louis and Patek Philippe 2526. True to his character, all of his watches contained an element of art and design, and the present Longines is no different, featuring highly unusual and very attractive “Inverted Lugs”.
The present lot was previously offered at the landmark Sotheby’s auction, The Andy Warhol Collection, and still retains the auction hangtag from that sale.
