From which may by [sic] collected the most material Circumstances of every Campaign upon that Continent, from the Commencement to the Conclusion of the War. London: Printed for the Author, and sold by J. Millan, Bookseller, near Whitehall, 1765


8vo (205 x 123 mm). Half-title, penultimate leaf (Hh3) with Advertisement on the recto soliciting subscriptions for a never-published second volume, terminal leaf (Hh4) of Millan’s catalogue; short tear at top edge of title-page through the t of Washington's signature with early repair on verso, scattered light browning and marginal spotting. Early twentieth-century crushed red morocco, spine sparingly gilt-lettered in six compartments, turn-ins and board edges gilt-ruled, marbled endpapers, gilt edges; joints lightly rubbed.


Signed by George Washington (“Go: Washington”) on the title-page and inscribed and signed by Henry Knox on the half-title: “from His Excellency General Washington HKnox West Point Nov. 1782.”
