Charles Holl's maker's mark was registered on 15 May, 1917. His workshop was located at 20 rue des Victoires in Paris, and later at rue Volney. Holl belonged to the network of independent craftsmen whose technical mastery underpinned the creative ambitions of leading houses, and his workshop was regularly commissioned by Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels for pieces requiring precision and refined metalwork. Surviving objects bearing his mark demonstrate the atelier’s characteristic high-quality workmanship and crisp articulation, as shown in this bracelet.
